NOT PET FRIENDLY AND RUDE- My husband & I have been going to kava bars for 8+ years, taking our service animal kitty, who is harness trained, to each one and have never had a problem. We had been to this location a month ago at night with our cat & were never told she wasn’t allowed to be in this kava bar. Today, we returned with our cat & had been hanging out in there for about 20 minutes. She was sitting nicely in a corner while I was getting my SMALL kratom tea, when the manager said that the cat was not allowed to be in there, saying that she was not clean and would spread disease. I asked if dogs were allowed to be in here and he responded saying yes dogs are allowed in here but he just took a class on cats & stated that they spread disease and they’re not allowed to be in here. We paid $12 for a SMALL drink, which was extremely overpriced and felt horrible by how this man talked to us. We left nicely and other guests looked at us and apologized saying they have never heard of someone saying that before. We will never be coming back to support this location as well as any of the other locations due to this horrible experience.

My wife and I just got back from a business trip in Hawaii Saturday morning. The trip took about 15 hours with stops and we had already been up for 7 hours prior to the flight in HI. We couldn’t sleep due to all the turbulence on the LA to Orlando leg so by the time we landed, we’d been up almost 24 hours. I asked my wife Corinne, where do you want to go? She answered “Seriously?” Island Root of course. It’s sort of a tradition for us to stop there when traveling back from business trips. SOO Glad we did. Got a couple of Kratom sangrias and was good to go the rest of the day. We love this place. Great drinks and atmosphere.

Great tea room in downtown Melbourne. The Kava is top notch, and the nitro teas are on point. Go see John at the bar. He's super friendly and a great bartender. The bar has a very intimate setting. Nice size lounge area inside and plenty of seating outside too.
